Why Canterbury Tours
takes its name from history's most famous tour.
In
the 14th Century a number of men and women found themselves informally
together on a Pilgrimage from London to the Cathedral at Canterbury. So
wrote Geoffrey Chaucer, author of The Canterbury Tales, who cast himself
as a sort of combination Host, Tour Guide and Leader of Entertainment for
the group. A merry lot it was...and the trip so memorable its stories are
as fresh today as they were over 600 years ago. |
A pretty impressive testimonial
to the pleasures of travel!
Our purpose is to create the enthusiasm and joy of travel of Chaucer's
Pilgrims in the good people who tour with us. We orchestrate and host our
tours as if we were hosting our
own family celebration. We know that our tours are a special experience
for our guests and we remember that in everything we do.
Thank you for considering us! |
