Itinerary
Day One:
Our overnight flight with dinner and breakfast departs the USA for Rome, Italy.
Day Two:
Today we'll land in Rome and upon arrival we'll have a guided sight-seeing tour of the Eternal City, giving us a general overview of the city that will be our home for the next week. This afternoon we will gather for our first Mass followed by dinner. Overnight Rome.
Day Three:
Today we will go to Vatican City and the Papal Audience (subject to the Pope's schedule). This afternoon we will have a guided tour of St. Peter's and the Vatican Museum including the Sistine Chapel. Overnight Rome.
Day Four:
Morning visit to the Catacombs where our Chaplain will Celebrate Mass in the same place where the early Christians did. Next, we will visit the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the church of St. Praxedes which houses the Column of the Flagellation, and the Church of St. Alphonsus where the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is enshrined. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight Rome.
Day Five:
We will make an excursion today to visit Assisi, home and foundation of the Franciscan Order. Our chaplain will offer Mass for us in the lower church of the Basilica of St. Francis, and if time permits, you willl also visit and pray at the Church of St. Mary of the Angels. Overnight Rome.
Day Six:
Our journey today will take us to the Basilicas of St. John Lateran and St. Paul's Outside the Wall. The rest of the day is set aside for you to roam Rome at your leisure. Overnight Rome.
Day Seven:
Morning Mass at St. Peter's Basilica followed by the in the Angelus with the Holy Father. Afternoon at leisure to visit the Eternal City. Overnight Rome.
Day Eight:
Today we'll bid farewell to Italy. We'll head to Rome's Airport for our flight to Lisbon, Portugal. Upon arrival into Lisbon we'll be met by our Escort who will be our guide during our visit to Portugal. While in Lisbon, we will visit the birth place of St. Anthony where our Chaplain will celebrate Mass. Next, take a tour of this beautiful port city followed by our transfer to Fatima. Tonight we’ll attend the candlelight Rosary procession. Overnight Fatima.
Day Nine:
This morning we'll have Mass at the Capelinha, site of the Blessed Mother's apparition here in 1917. In the afternoon we'll visit the Hungarian Way of the Cross and the Cabeco where the Angel of Portugal appeared to the children. Tonight we'll attend the Rosary procession. Overnight Fatima.
Day Ten:
Depart Fatima for an excursion to visit the walled city of Obidos. Obidos is something out of a story book with beautiful quaint streets. The old town center is surrounded by castle walls, battlemented and reinforced by towers. Within these walls are picturesque whitewashed Renaissance and Baroque houses, most of them covered with flowers. Overnight Fatima.
Day Eleven:
Mass at the Basilica. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You may want to walk the stations one more time or pray at the Caphelina. Tonight we will gather for our farewell diner. Overnight Fatima.
Day Twelve:
With a deeper love for Mary, gratitude to God and great memories of our pilgrimage, we'll board our plane for our flight home.
